And being a independent woman, I find myself repeating these words quite a lot… “I can do it myself.” There’s a sense of pride and accomplishment when I do something myself, without help from anyone else. However, these words could not be further from the truth.
Fact is, I never do anything by myself. Without the help of Christ as my Savior, my life wouldn’t be what it is today. I will admit that there are times that I think I have done it by myself. But in all honesty, He is the reason I can do anything and everything. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. This may have been the first verse I ever memorized. In fact, I have this scripture tattooed on my back. Saying these words to myself, provides me with a sense of comfort and security. Just knowing that I don’t have to do anything by myself. I absolutely love the fact that Jesus Christ wants us to ask Him for help.. He wants us to turn to Him in times of need and release any worry, doubt, stress, or fear that we have. I’m going to keep this week’s post short and sweet. But, I want to share one last verse with you. Something about this scripture stuck with me today as I left church. “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” Galatians 2:20. My goal is to remind myself of this truth as I go throughout my week and remember that I never have to do anything by myself. It’s an amazing and powerful thing to let go of our pride and remember who is truly behind our every step.
